SENSORY OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH

Our Occupational Therapists are able to determine the cause of the difficulties and work with educational staff to train them on sensory processing and how to implement therapeutic programmes and strategies to benefit children in their care.

A sensory diet/routine for the child will be designed to be implemented throughout the school day.

We design individual short 20 minute sensory programmes to target the child’s area of need and address their sensory processing problems. Working with teaching staff we train them how to implement specific activities to engage and support the child.

Programmes are reviewed regularly to ensure the child is benefitting and progressing in order to up-grade the activities.

Assessments

We offer a range of assessments designed to:

  • Identify the child's strength and weaknesses

  • Determine the cause of the difficulties

  • Baseline their ability y for future progress

  • Formulate a plan of action

After determining the cause of the difficulties a sensory diet/routine for the child will be designed to be implemented throughout the school day.
