Stephen Miller MBE
I was born with cerebral palsy, which is a form of brain damage that affects the signals from my brain to my muscles and makes balance and coordination more difficult than usual.

I am a professional athlete, competing in field athletics primarily the F32 Club Throw, which is equivalent to the Javelin for my disability. I have competed in Discus and Shot Putt in the past. I have represented Great Britain for over 15 years, competing in 5 Paralympic Games, 5 World Championships and 4 European Championships - so far winning 26 international medals.

I am also a website developer, working part-time at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead. I write and do motivational speaking. I'm secretary of NUDSA - Newcastle United Disabled Supporters Association.

I am a Managing Director at SMILE Through Sport - A Community Interest Company that's aims are to inspire, educate and promote enjoyment of disability sport.

The aims and aspirations of Gateshead Kestrels echo my own, strongly held, beliefs. I know that Gateshead Kestrels provides fantastic opportunities for young people with difficulties to participate and grow to become physically, emotionally and socially fit for life.
I am privileged and proud to be Gateshead Kestrels' Patron.
