Facilities

Stephen Miller Centre

Cedars School consists of the Liz Neale Hall and Stephen Miller Centre, comprising an inclusive physical development and wellness centre with changing
and shower facilities.
The complex allows the Academy to deliver a high quality, inclusive physical development provision. The centre was officially opened by 3 x Paralympic Gold medalist, Stephen Miller MBE.

Liz Neale Hall

Physical Development sessions are delivered in the Liz Neale Hall. The new complex allows us to have an even greater impact on the number of young people who access our support and expertise. This is something we are committed to and are immensely proud of.

Therapy Centre

The focus of the Therapy Centre is to support pupils who have specific difficulties around communication and socialisation, emotional regulation, emotional well-being, physical strength, stamina and flexibility and sensory integration. These are common barriers to learning for pupils at Cedars School, so this is why it is important to provide a range of therapies and therapeutic experiences that are fully integrated into each child’s daily curriculum offer.

Hydrotherapy Pool

We have a small Sensory Hydrotherapy Pool next to the Stephen Miller Centre. It’s size means that it is perfect for individuals and small groups to use ensuring the environment is always calm and inviting for young children or children who find public pools intimidating.

Sensory Hydrotherapy provides a number of benefits for these children with additional needs. Water is a unique environment that provides gentle pressure, buoyancy, and soothing support that has many benefits for pupils with additional needs.
